Shade sails or shade nets for greenhouses serve to prevent overheating or cooling of the greenhouse and protect certain plants against burning, discolouration and drying out. The shade cloth is an effective protection against 40 to 50% of the sun's rays. It also acts as a windbreak to reduce the effect of wind and protects young plants from being knocked over or lying down. They also protect against animal intrusion. Made of polypropylene, they are available by the metre.
